As nurses, we all make mistakes. Though we try our very best not to… it is inevitable that a mistake may happen.
Rather than do what we may want to do (which is run under a rock and hide), here are three tips to help you with a nursing mistake:
Let’s hear from you! Have you ever made a mistake as a nurse? What did you do to prevent, avoid, or fix it after the fact? What can you share with our readers to help them when they have made a nursing mistake?

Elizabeth,
Great video with helpful suggestions on what to do next if you make a mistake. Admitting you made the mistake and looking at the lessons does help lessen the mistake from happening in the future as well as empowers you as the nurse to learn and grow. I have made some mistakes as a nurse and once I got over the guilt I did the suggestions and it has prevented those mistakes from happening again.
Thanks, Cassandra. Glad you enjoyed the video. Also appreciate your insights into going through these steps and learning from the mistake.
