A Fun Way to Relieve Stress as a Nurse

by | Aug 17, 2015 | 12 comments

One of my number one values is fun. That’s right, I want to have a good time. And I thoroughly believe that in enjoying ourselves we can relieve some of this nasty stuff we call stress in nursing.

I recently posted an intentional action item in the Your Next Shift Facebook Community and got a bunch of really awesome responses! I thought it’d be super fun to highlight not only the nurses who spoke out in this upbeat way, but to share the inspirational quotes they passed along to each other.

Oh, which leads me to another great stress reliever- surrounding yourself with like-minded nursing colleagues who are positive, enthusiastic, and like to make a difference in this world while supporting one another. So check out the group and here are the top five inspirational quotes shared amongst my nursing colleagues.

These are great and I love how you’ve invited input and shared. Having fun is so important and why not!!! I’d add this quote by John Burroughs, “Leap and the net will appear”.

Elizabeth my favorite is a quote from Mother Teresa – “It is not how much you do but how much love you put in the doing” This applies to my job as a nurse on crazy stressful shifts and my job as a mother/wife! I feel so busy all the time working and balancing 3 little children, we are going from here to there and this quote is a great reminder. Thanks for sharing the others.

Oooh… that is a great quote to remind you to love what you do. And I guess, if you don’t then that quote reminds you to have the confidence to make a change. Thanks for sharing that with us, Kelly!
