First off, I do want to apologize upfront for this lengthy post. I tend to a long-winded writer and it’s really hard for me to keep it short and sweet. However, I do want to share with you the backstory behind this massive shift… because you asked. And so I listened.

Take Action: Nursing Career Advancement #nursingfromwithinFor those of you who don’t know, I’ve been attending my business coach’s live workshop every fall for the past… oh, 4 years. This fall will be #5 for me. And after each one of her workshops, I sign up to coach with her again. It has really been one of the best business investments I have made in my life (but not the point of this email… see, I digress).

Any-whoo… so I coach with her regularly and one of the things we had been working on this past year-long program with her was my own live event. Some of you may have seen me talking about this on social media and/or mentioning it in my blog. (If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can learn more here:

Well, I was really excited about this. Or so I thought…

Once the Art of Nursing (my Nurse’s Week virtual conference) was over, I started to shift my focus towards the live event. However something really strange was happening inside of my body. Each time I thought of the fall workshop, I felt tight. Like I couldn’t breathe. Uh-oh, I thought. This isn’t good.

So last month, June 1st actually, I had a three hour mini-retreat with my coach. We talked about everything else going on in my business… almost as if I was saving the best (or worst, based on how I felt) for last. Finally we got to the topic of the fall workshop.

Nursing Career Tips: How to Love Your Job #nursingfromwithinImmediately, my energy shifted. And she called me out (like she tends to do) saying something about how the tone of my voice had changed. And then she asked me:

“Elizabeth, if you didn’t have to go through with the workshop, how would that make you feel?”

My voice squeezed out a whisper: “Relieved.”

There, I had said it. I had followed my body. I listened to my energy. I went with my gut. Lots of what I talk about on my blog and teach y’all through this newsletter, right?

Well, one of the reasons I felt the need to shift the live format was because of your response. I was getting loads of questions about the fall program. People were asking me if it was to be recorded. Nurses were saying that they wanted to attend, but couldn’t travel those dates. The feedback was: put it online and we can come!

So that’s what we’re doing. The Your Next Shift Workshop will still be held October 26 & 27 (click here to see the full agenda). However it will be held… get this… from the comfort of your own home!

While this is STILL a ‘live’ event in that I am encouraging you now to block out your calendar and set aside the time to join us these two days this fall… it will be delivered all via telephone call, internet chat, and private (closed) Facebook group for registered attendees.

You will still get one-on-one training with me. You will still engage with your colleagues in exercises. You will still receive all of the handouts, materials, content, and CNE hours… just from the comfy, cozy space of your own home.

No travel fees. No hotel cost. No out-of-pocket expenses for meals. Easy, simple, and fun. Just the way I like it!
