Sourdough Sandwich Bread

Sourdough is a naturally fermented bread made using wild yeast and lactic acid bacteria. This live culture, called starter, is what gives this bread its signature taste, chewy texture, and enhanced digestability. No chemical additives or artificial yeast is added/needed.

Getting this bread to you is truly a labor of love, as every step in the measuring, mixing, and final baking is done by hand.

We feed the sourdough starter to make it rise and become active.

The ingredients are mixed and the dough rests overnight. Once ready, we bake the bread in our home oven and package it with care.

Get to Know Your Baker

Hey there!

I’m Elizabeth Scala, and I live with my husband and two dogs along Deer Creek in Parkton, MD.

In addition to “bread baker,” I’m also a holistic nurse, certified coach, registered yoga instructor, reiki master, and qigong facilitator.

One of my yoga students introduced me to sourdough and baking bread. Two years ago, I made it one of my household goals never to buy storebought bread again.

Of course, bread is one of my favorite snacks to eat!

Made with care in my home kitchen. This bread is homemade and was produced in a home kitchen not inspected by the health department.
