This is an energizing, challenging, and fun program. I’m grateful to be able to practice and bring my Reiki Nurse skills into the weekly webinar calls.

This past week we talked about some barriers, some of our challenges that keep us from reaching our goals. We discussed an issue I absolutely LOVE talking about: time. While this is one of my favorite topics, I’m not going to speak to time on this post- you can always check out my special report, “I Don’t Have Time: The Number One Barrier & What to Do About It”.

No, in this post I will not touch on time but will speak to the other topic we spoke of this week: self-appreciation.

Self-appreciation has many terms: self-worth, self-esteem, self-value, self-love. Whatever you want to call it… appreciating, loving, valuing the self can be a challenge for many of us. One of the women in my group had a difficult time with this concept.

I put a slide up that asked things like:

  • What are your strengths?
  • What do you like about yourself now?
  • What do you enjoy about being with you?
  • Which of your physical traits are your most favorite?
  • What skills do you have?
  • How do you shine?

Now, I gave the group a few minutes to answer these questions to themselves. I then asked who answered the question about their physical traits. Two women did and so I took a chance and called on one of them. As we got deeper into the conversation, dwelling on her responses -or lack thereof- she honestly admitted that she didn’t have any answers for any of the above.

She revealed that to share her strengths, talents, and values -for her- stems upon arrogance, being conceited, or bragging. She felt uncomfortable tooting her own horn.

Her homework this week: appreciate yourself. Appreciate your beauty. Look back over the list and without being modest, without worrying about what others think, without holding back- what do you LOVE about yourself?

I encourage you to do the same. Appreciate you. Appreciate your beauty. Look at the questions above and answer them for yourself. Take your time. Take plenty of it. Reflect, be still, get quiet. Allow your inner answers to bubble up. Let your ego go. Release your doubts, fears, or worries. Just let your heart feel.

Self-appreciation can be a challenge, a barrier to reaching our own goals. We get in our own way when we are unable to shine. Live into and experience your beauty and let yourself reach your goals. When you shine… everything’s easier! When you appreciate yourself you awaken and allow your success, joy, peace, and love.
