It can certainly be a challenge to be both a busy, hard-working nurse professional AND a nurse that is able to find the time for health. Stress reduction and stress relief in nursing are of the utmost importance to a successful nurse career.
In today’s video tip, which offers a bit of guidance on wellness for nurses, I offer two tools to increasing your energy while at work.
Nursing can be taxing on the body, mind and spirit. So often we find ourselves tired, drained and running on empty. Healthy nurses find a way to move the physical body through exercise so that their energy levels are greater throughout the nursing shift.
Instead of struggling to find the time to fit in exercise, here are two tips to physical activity that nurses can do.

I love your tips for getting in some exercise time. They will be a great help for many. As for me who is a night shift worker, after 12+ hours of running hallways and dealing with the issues we deal with, changing into anything but my pj’s after work is not something that works for me. More so than that I also have some physical limitations that prevent me from doing most of the “normal” things people do to get their physical activity. I have found that being in the right psychological mindset can be as important, and sometimes more so, as the physical. I have used your tips for taking my “time-outs” for a couple minutes or just seconds each time I go to work, during the shift and in my everyday life, also. The yoga nursing that I learned in one of your Rejuevenation Collaboration’s has been invaluable and does allow me both physical and mental exercise, too. Thank you again for reminding me to continue to keep things simple and that whatever works for me is OK!
Glad to hear you continue to do what works best for you, Marti. Keep it up!
