Allowing Energy to Flow: Enhance Receptivity

One of the things I most love about being a nurse entrepreneur is the constant experience of lessons learned. As a Reiki Nurse I not only get to give, but receive. But I’ve got to be honest with you- I too am not always the best at receptivity.

Here’s a quick story of something that JUST happened to me as I sit down to write this post.

I’ve mentioned before that over the past few weeks I’ve been involved in my own universal laws training. There are these CDs that I listen to in my car, around the house, or whenever I have spare time. Let me also honestly share that I’ve participated in a lot of ‘self-help’ material before, via many different modalities.

So needless to say my historic perspective sometimes allows a bit of skepticism to creep in. “How will this be any different? What if this too doesn’t do the job? I can’t fail again!” I know I mentioned last week that definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

Well in this program the teacher provides an instructional PDF that you must review before getting started. On that PDF instruction number three specifically says: “Play the training D as often as you like until you manifest the price you paid for this course.”

When I went to graduate school I opened an account with my organization’s credit union in order to take advantage of the loan repayment program. Well, I graduated in December of 2009 and haven’t thought of that account since. Periodically I get letters in the mail saying the interest for the month accrued to something like three cents, whoopies!

Just last week I got a letter from them saying that I had to call immediately or, because of my inactive account, my funds would be turned over to the state. You bet I called as soon as I got this letter!

As I hung up the phone I realized, I did it. I manifested the price I paid for the course. They’re sending me the money in the mail. I actually did it!

What does this have to do with receptivity? Instead of forcing my way into new clients, more work, or the creation of a new product or service- I just followed the steps in the course, received the information being shared with me, and allowed what was meant to be.

We have a tendency to want what we want when we want it. We think we can force, control, or make things happen. I know; I’ve done it too. If I work harder- I can make what I want to happen, happen. If I do more, give more, put myself out there more- I will see results. Right?

Wrong.

Pushing more, doing more, giving more- doesn’t necessarily mean better outcomes. Sometimes we have to allow, be open, and receive what’s meant to be.

I’ve been using a new mantra from my Reiki meditation CD lately and I really like it. Maybe you will find it helpful to. It’s: “I’m open to receiving whatever it is that I need in this moment”.

Examine your own life. Watch your behavior. Where do you allow the energy to flow? When are you open to receiving? On the other hand, where can you let go of some resistance, some force? How can you balance the doing with being?

I’d love to hear from you. Share a comment or response below. Thank you for reading my blog. Have a healthy day!

Elizabeth – “I am open to receiving whatever it is that I need in this moment” IS such a gift.
So thank you for repeating-sharing here (I needed to hear it today.)
And so rather than get *talky* – I’ll just shift into receiving… Thank you 😀

      Hello Elaine,
Thank you for taking time to read and comment. It is so interesting… Just as you were commenting on the blog I was doing my morning visualization and opening myself up to receptivity. I am thrilled to hear you went on to do the same! We are connected via this energetic flow. Flowing with you now my ho-ho-holistic RN. Enjoy your health today,
      Elizabeth
