Energy Lessons: Your Greatest Treasure

On the blog this month, I have committed to sharing stories that will teach. Well of course, now that I am committed to this I find myself blocked from story-telling. HA! Just goes to show that when you try to force something; it’s actually harder to make it happen. But that’s a whole other lesson… another day…

I guess what I write about today- I will share quite quickly… because there isn’t a ton to say.

Other than being completely transparent here, this is what is happening…

I went out this weekend. Drew (my husband) and I were at the beach. Friday and Saturday were good beach days- which always knock us on our asses… since sitting in the sun, wind, and elements can be tiring. (I know, I know… how weird since most of what I do on the beach is nap).

But Sunday it started out cloudy- so we went out to eat. Then the sun came out- and we rushed to the beach. Well, we were there maybe two hours or so and then the rain came. So we left. Short beach day; short day outside. Not much else to do but hang…

So we started to pre-game. And then decided to bar crawl. (Bikes are the way to travel in Cape May). And needless to say, several hours later we were home, tired, and asleep.

And even though I do not ‘party-hardy’ like I did during the good old days of black-out college life… I don’t really drink at all any more. So even a few drinks can impact my energy.

And this is what has happened.

Ever since engaging in all of these healthy practices I do (meditation, journaling, eating well, exercise, Reiki, dancing, visualization, etc.) I notice that my energy is HIGHLY impacted by the things I do. And even more recently, on the universal laws training CDs I have been using (he talks about energy drains and noticing what drains/uplifts energy) I am TOTALLY impacted by things. And I FEEL it, like I never felt it before.

It is SO, so obvious. I am so sensitive to what uplifts my energy and what drains it.

Alcohol is a total energy drain, for me.

I feel down, slow, tired, heavy, blocked, weak, and blue. I feel that heavy vibration that all of these energy gurus talk about, not the high-positive vibration you want to be vibrating in to attract what you want.

And I ask others, observe others, and take note of others- they don’t seem as heavily impacted by these energy drains… not as much as I am. So is it because I am more mindful of it now? Is it because I am aware? Is it because I do energy work and use energy and am now sensitive to energy?

Who knows?

But let me share this teaching point with you- be mindful of you energy. Keep a safe hold of it. Do not let other people, places, substances, things or experiences take it. Your energy is a sacred treasure and should be treated as such.

Watch what takes energy from you. Watch where you receive energy boosts from. Take note of these things and do what makes you feel good.

I know for me I am abstaining from alcohol for the rest of the month. Maybe even longer. We will see. Once in awhile is fine for me, but I prefer to vibrate at a higher energy level. Full of life, joy, peace, and fun.
