Elizabeth Scala's ShoesFor those of you who know me, I trust when you think of me and what I like to wear in terms of shoes, you get a pretty distinct image of flip flops, sneakers or slippers. And for those of you who don’t… that’s all that I like to wear.

Summertime I am a barefoot gal, only throwing on a pair of flip flops when I head out to the beach. As soon as it starts to get chilly, sneakers become my footwear staple. And in the evenings? Forget about it… I’m all slippers. I even have multiple pairs of slippers so that when I travel, I can bring them on the road with me.

So you might be surprised that I recently decided to receive, wear and ultimately review a pair of actual shoes. Shoes! Professional looking, adult-styled, wear-to-work type shoes. Trust me, I was nervous. “Would they hurt? What if I can’t walk in them? How will I handle the foot constraints?

Florence Naturalizer ShoeGuess what! To my surprise and sheer delight, this did not happen at all. In fact, I cannot take these shoes off! They are super comfy and easy to walk in (even for the girl who doesn’t like to raise above ground level when walking). I wear them to work… and feel quite professional now as my hideous and over-worn sneakers have passed their prime. I wear them walking Rusty. I even wear them around the house, forgetting to take them off when I get home in the evenings.

I LOVE these shoes. I am so super thrilled with the way they’ve been holding up and how supportive they are. My feet feel strong and happy (I know, it sounds so weird… but they do) and I am so grateful I have found a professional shoe that suits me and my needs.

While Naturalizer has lots of varieties, I am wearing the Florence shoe (how fitting, for a nurse like me!). Some of the particulars of the Florence shoe include:

  • Slip-on entry (I LOVE this! For a sneaker gal who slips on and slips off… this is certainly something that helps me move fast in the AM shuffle.)
  • Elastic goring and zipper side panel for flexibility
  • Padded collar for long-lasting comfort (I’ll tell you… I’ve had no rubbing on my heel or any soreness… even when wearing them new!)
  • Removable Ortholite comfort foam insole
  • Lux sueded sock with Agion antimicrobial technology (This is great for us nurses who need to ensure we keep our feet clean and shoes clear of any bacteria from the workplace.)
  • Oil-resistant and slip-resistant outsole, 2 inch heel

So take it from me. The flip-flop, slipper wearing, sneaker addict freak. This shoe is comfortable, professional and really affordable. I love it and will continue to wear it on a daily basis. I better start shopping for more styles! Better yet, check it out and grab a Florence Naturalizer shoe for you. (Please note, the Florence is part of a new, unique collection to Naturalizer, called Naturalizer@work.)
