What is one of your greatest fears as a nurse? For many, it is one and the same: making a mistake.
I am not sure where this comes from, however as nurses we are terrified at the very thought of doing something wrong. I have heard of nurses waking up in cold sweats during the middle of the night, from the sheer nightmare of making an error.
Now- while this is totally the case- is it not a little bit nuts? Do we not realize that as nurses we are also human beings? Meaning… we might just do something wrong?
Well, this next podcast is all about that. Nursing errors and what to do about them.
I share from real world experience of a recent mistake I made as a research program coordinator. And trust me, it was a biggie! Hours to fix it and great shame in the fact that it happened. However- on this show you will also learn:
- The truth about nursing mistakes;
- What they making an error can teach us;
- And how we can turn it into a positive situation.
