This Cardiac Stepdown Unit sure does put the heart into the Art of Nursing. Poster winner for the special awards process of the Art of Nursing program shares their passion and dedication for the nurse profession.

These nurses gathered together to create this awesomely inspiring poster to celebrate National Nurse’s Week and the Art of Nursing event with us.

As one nurse said:

“The last two nights I have cared for a man who is the anxious type; always fretting about everything. This morning when I checked on him for the last time before I left he thanked me, gave me a hug and said ‘God Bless You’. When I looked back at this gentleman after we hugged, his eyes were misty were misty with emotion. I don’t know about the rest of you but it isn’t the awards from the company that I work for that fulfill my nursing career. It’s the small moments from the patients themselves that make all the rules, regulations changes, and running our tails off worth all of the tears and stress we encounter on a day-to-day basis. In reflection, I wouldn’t have it any other way!” Ashley T, RN

“This is short but sweet. I had the pleasure of taking care of one of my best friend’s mother. I was told her mother said I was sent by God to take wonderful care of her that night. I will never forget those words. I felt very special; and every time I question why I became a nurse I think to myself I do make a difference.” Elaina C, RN
