Top 5 Quotes to Inspire Nurses

Inspirational Quotes for Nurses #nursingfromwithinToday is a Monday. Which, for me, typically means writing a new blog post. Well, I had a very ‘busy’ day… two calls about the Art of Nursing 2.0 program with CNOs; two video interviews taped for the same. Lots of emails, social media sharing and reading of nurse blogs.

I went to walk my dog and felt this pang of ‘guilt’ over not having written my blog post- yet.

When I returned from my walk, I looked over the mail as I walked up my driveway. There was a pleasant surprise: a book gifted to me from another nurse author and keynote speaker. Connie Merritt sent me her book ‘Too Busy for Your Own Good: Get More Done in Less Time- with Even More Energy‘ and it was as though I was meant to receive it right in that very moment.

Inspirational Quotes for Nurses #nursingfromwithinI opened up the book and read the first chapter immediately, yet it was what was in the first few chapters that caught my attention immediately. Connie starts off the book describing how this ‘busyness’ of life has become somewhat of a status symbol. How when we interact with others, we attempt to outdo them in our conversations with just how ‘busy’ we are.

And I did that very same thing- to myself- today. Comparing how much I got done versus how much I thought I ought to do. Judging just how much is ‘enough’ to have a productive day. It was quote apparent to me that the truth really is: “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

Inspirational Quotes for Nurses #nursingfromwithinSo I decided to take a break. Take a break from coming up with blog content to share with you five of my favorite quotes I use for inspiration. Here you go…

Here are quotes for empowerment. Quotes for nursing inspiration. Quotes for nurse leaders to uplift, enjoy and reconnect their passion for their profession.

You see… everything comes down to the power of the mind. We can be in control of our greatest asset. We simply have to become aware of our thoughts and how very powerful they can become. Take control of your thoughts- live the life of your dreams. What if it could be that simple?

Thanks for your great message Elizabeth. I have lived by the quote from Henry Ford, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”. So inspiring and helps anyone to move forwards.

I had never heard the quote, “Self compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves that we would give to others” but I absolutely love it! What a wonderful way to look at life and work. Thank you for a great blog and for the quotes. They are all very inspiring!
