Virtual Book Tour: Nurse Bloggers Unite!

by | Jun 4, 2015 | 8 comments

Your Next Shift: Virtual Book Tour #yournextshiftI’d like to dedicate this post to a group of nurse bloggers who rock! This week we are in the midst of the ‘Your Next Shift’ virtual book tour. Nursing blogs from across the country are coming together in collaboration. Here is where you can find the entire (and awesome) nurse blogger group in one place (click here).

The reason my first book, ‘Nursing from Within‘ was so super successful (it reached #1 on Amazon’s Hottest New Releases in Nursing books), was in part due to the virtual book tour I hosted last year during that book launch. As a nurse entrepreneur who is mindful of numbers and follows what works, I decided on this go-around to rinse and repeat.

Your Next Shift: Virtual Book Tour #yournextshiftThis group has not let me down… and continues to amaze and inspire me throughout this week. From nurse entrepreneurs to nurse authors, from nursing podcasts to Google Hangouts, these nurse bloggers are an inspirational bunch. Just to name a few… let me share with you who’s who on this virtual book tour:

  • Sarah Brennan Mott of Nurse Born Products is a nurse entrepreneur with a dedicated site that supplies nurses with innovative products made by nurses for nurses. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I would encourage you to do so as Sarah is the savvy nurse entrepreneur behind the Nurse Born Stethoscope Holder.
  • Donna Carol Maheady is ‘THE’ nurse when it comes to nurses with disabilities. Her book, her website, and her blog are a place where nurses can find support, advice, wisdom and personal experience. I am always in collaboration with Donna and truly respect her work.
  • The Nursing Site Blog, hosted by nurse author Kathy Quan, has won more nursing blog awards than I can count! Her articles help future and experienced nurses with an amazing variety of topics, resources, and information.
  • And who doesn’t love a live hangout? With Kate Loving Shenk, you always are in for an upbeat and inspirational interview. Kate hosts podcasts, radio shows, and hangouts on air and is a powerhouse of positive influence.

Now this list is by no means exhaustive… so if I were you I’d walk… no RUN over to the ‘Your Next Shift‘ virtual book tour page and check out all of the nurse bloggers who are participating in this super fun event.

Hey- and the first person to comment below and tell me three things they have learned from reading three of the nurse bloggers posts- will win a complimentary copy of ‘Your Next Shift‘. And… let’s make a contest out of it! I’ll give a book to the first person who comments below AND also draw a name out of a hat. So two people are in for a free book next week…

How would you like to start your summer reading off right? Go ahead and comment below and the winner will be chosen and announced next week.

Here’s what you gotta do to participate:

  1. Visit the ‘Your Next Shift‘ virtual book tour page (click here).
  2. Read at least three of the nursing blogs listed on the page.
  3. Comment below on what you learned from the three nurse bloggers posts.
  4. Be sure to place your first name and email address when you comment (email address will not be visible and/or shared) so that I can contact the winner with their prize (a free copy of ‘Your Next Shift‘).
  5. Contest will wrap on June 8, 2015 and winner will be announced on June 10, 2015.

    1. Donna Carol Maheady’s Exceptional Nurse: I learned and reaffirmed that ‘staying silent is similar to muffling [your] authentic voice.’ Authenticity about issues in nursing is the clearest path to communicating and realizing change.

    2. Kathy Quon’s Nursing Site Blog: The Book tour includes a live career workshop on October 26-27.

    3. Sarah Brennan Mott’s Nurse Born Products: You run the ‘National Nurse’s Week virtual conference’ and have experience and great insight on being a Nurse Entrepreneur.
